Cable fault location | Cable fault locator M-SWG

Whether cable fault location or cable fault finding, the M-SWG is a mobile cable fault location system for complex applications. In the simplest way possible, a faulty point in high, medium and low voltage cables can be located quickly and reliably. The system contains a powerful high voltage unit with a burning function. The built-in surge generator and the TDR reflectometer find the cable fault easily. As an operator you navigate through the menu quickly and safely. The system is self-training and performs all operating steps fully automatically.

All operating steps for the test can be carried out in the simplest possible way via a control knob / rotary control. The system offers the function of cable fault diagnosis- location and cable fault handling. Together with the MP-901 it has an additional highly sensitive cable fault fine tuning. Fault handling; targeted localization using acoustic methods. Under a single compact system SWG embodies all the main components of a fully-featured cable test van: a digital pulse reflectometer, a high-voltage step-up test transformer, a powerful surge wave generator and a burn unit.

Rich functionality along with small dimensions and durable design allows using M-SWG for most cable fault tasks where a cable test van would traditionally have been utilised. In addition, the system can be used for withstand testing solid insulation with DC voltage up to 32 kV (depending on systems). M-SWG-series systems can therefore be considered as an uncompromising solution for high-quality cable maintenance – these compact and mobile units provide the full range of functionality and feature safety functions commonly available only on fully-featured van-mounted cable test and fault location systems.

Micro Ohm Meter DLRO10HD | Micro Ohm Messung

The Micro Ohm Meter DLRO 10HD Digital 10 A Low Ohm Tester is well suited for measuring thick conductors, joints and the quality of welds due to its 10 A range for resistance values up to 250 mΩ. Electromagnetic noise induced in the cables can interfere with a measured value. A noise symbol alerts the user and prevents a measurement if the instrument detects noise above its threshold. When dissimilar metals are connected together, a thermocouple effect occurs.

Users should select a bidirectional mode to ensure termination of this effect. The DLRO 10HD adapts to the requirements in a much improved way. It can deliver 10 A in loads up to 250 mΩ and 1 A in loads up to 2.5 Ω. Each test can last up to 60 seconds. Megger’s DLRO 10HD Micro Ohm Meter, which expands the DLRO10 and 10X series, combines extreme ease of use with a rugged IP 65 enclosure. The instrument is powered by either its rechargeable battery or mains voltage, making it suitable for continuous testing in assembly line repetitive application environments. Operation via rotary switch controls is simple and easy in all weather conditions, even with gloves on.

A large, clear LCD display with backlighting can be easily read from a distance. The DLRO 10HD adapts to the requirements in a much improved way. It can deliver 10 A in loads up to 250 mΩ and 1 A in loads up to 2.5 Ω. Each test can take up to 60 seconds.

Micro Ohm Meter DLRO100 | Micro Ohm Messung

Micro Ohm Meter DLRO100 – The DLRO100 Micro Ohm Meters an essential addition to Megger’s extensive range of micro ohm meters. They micro ohm meters allow low resistance measurements in multiple applications and in areas without access to a mains supply. The integrated lithium ion battery performs for up to 200 manual / automatic tests. With a constant current of 100A, it provides increased productivity in remote locations. The advanced design features, with special attention paid to user safety, ensure the safe operation of the unit in the most challenging conditions.

These features include the CAT IV 600 VAC / 500 VDC safety category according to IEC61010. The robust design, intuitive user interface and IP54 rating (cover open) ensure reliability and ease of use in the most challenging conditions. The manual test mode allows the user to start the test as soon as contact is made between the probes and the object under test. Once the TEST button is pressed, the TEST light will illuminate and the instrument will perform a single test to confirm the resistance of the object under test. In Auto Mode, the user selects the desired current and connects the current sense leads.

Once the voltage leads are connected, a test is automatically started. To repeat a test, simply disconnect and reconnect the contact with the voltage measurement taps. In continuous mode, the user connects the test leads and presses the TEST button, which starts the test procedure. The instrument continues the test and updates the display after each new test cycle until the TEST button is pressed.

VLF Meter M-VLF120 | VLF testing

VLF Meter M-VLF120 | Cable Diagnostics – For both cable testing or cable fault diagnostics, the VLF Meter M-VLF120 has by far the best line-to-weight ratio in its class. VLF systems are used to check medium voltage cables or perform periodic cable testing. It is important to perform a reconnection check after repairs and work on power cables. In addition to the variable VLF (AC) output frequency, modes for DC voltage testing can also be selected. As well as cable sheath testing or sheath fault location. During the entire measurement time, the cable ends must be protected against direct and indirect contact.

The M-VLF120 system has an electronic as well as a mechanical discharge device (internal). On top it has an integrated 12kV reverse voltage protection. All of our high voltage series devices are “dry” systems, so they do not use oil. Consequently, this makes them very easy to maintain. Therefore, they are not subject to limited operating time. M-VLF120 is also expandable with a tangent delta diagnostic system. And a partial discharge diagnostic system (option). Thus, the M-VLF120 is a powerful 0.1 Hz VLF meter for medium voltage cable testing.

The M-VLF120 high voltage generator offers several operating modes:
cable test – cable sheath test – sheath fault location.

Furthermore, the measurement of capacitance and effective resistance of the DUT. Display of the current test time. Real-time indication of the output signal on the display. Plus, an intuitive operating software with language selection. Logging of measurement results. Protocol output via RS232 or USB optional. As well as a PC software for analysis and archiving. Breakdown detector and fast shutdown. Measurement of breakdown voltage. But also, the time optimized burning mode. Finally, low maintenance due to dry, oil-free design.
